Seydişehir was founded in the early 14th century by Seyyid Harun Veli, a revered Sufi saint and scholar who constructed the town's original mosque and complex under Seljuk and Karamanid patronage. Nestled at the foot of the Küpe Mountains, Seydişehir grew into an important religious, agricultural, and industrial center connecting Central Anatolia to the Mediterranean coast.
